Indonesia is not so much fun

these days,

since they crackdown

on drug taking

in discos.

I used to love

the rave parties there.

You start partying on

Friday night,

and don't leave

till Monday morning.

Now,

under pressure from

the US government

to crackdown

on drugs,

the police

are having a field day

raiding discos

and subjecting everyone

to spot tests.

The rich,

will pay their way out.

The poor,

will go to jail.

Going to jail,

in Indonesia

is like a

death sentence.

You either die

of malaria

or HIV

from prison rape.

Why should drug takers

be criminalised???

Criminals victimise others

Drug takers victimise themselves.

And drug taking is abusive

only if taken

in excess.

So is over eating

or over drinking

or over smoking.

The occasional joint

with beers

or estacsy pill

in a rave party,

is not going to

hurt anyone

or yourself.

The world

should liberalise

drug laws.

Allow marijuana

at home,

or in selected

public places.

Allow rave parties,

but advise against

over dose.

Give people the choice

and help them,

if they need help.

Just like alcoholics

or nicotine addicts

or overweight

need help.
