for the word "Happiness"

and the 2nd most frequent searchers

for the word "Lonely".

It implies

Singaporeans

are lonely people

searching the internet

for happiness.

How sad.

I guess we don't need

Google Trends

to tell us

we're really

one miserable people.

Seems like all young couples

spend their entire salaries

paying for their house

and car.

When they cannot afford that

they try so hard

to impress

with trendy branded bags.

They seem to think

once they have kids,

its like a curse

and life as they know it

is over.

Always chasing

the next dollar,

another day

another dollar.

Well, materialism

is a fact of life

in a capitalist society,

but when you have

a society,

where you feel

the odds were stacked

deliberately

against you,

you feel

disenfranchised

and a certain lack

of belonging,

that the government

is out to screw you

at every roll

of the dice,

yes

Life is bleak,

very bleak
